Grey Friends Publishing is an independent publishing imprint created by Alya Marchenko for publishing speculative fiction, starting with Army of the Sun.

The imprint name comes from a long line of small grey friends: pet rats who have shared the author's home, stolen his heart, interrupted work, and generally improved the world by being in it.

Army of the Sun is the first major Grey Friends project.

Alya Marchenko

Alya Marchenko is the pen name of Alexey Marchenko, who was born and raised in Dnipro, Ukraine. He now lives in a small village in Illinois with his wife and two children.

His other works include short stories, poems, sports journalism, and thousands of lines of software code — the last of which, luckily, requires no translation into English.
